Artist Residence at Kombinat, Halle 14 – Spinnerie, Leipzig (Germany) / Jully 2023
Arritmia Iridescente (iridescent arrhythmia) is an abstract autobiography of my experience during the COVID pandemic.
I was living in Berlin, my first year in Germany. From January 1st to December 31st, 2021, I drew the same image daily: a human heart. This exercise of detached repetition worked as a personal ritual.
With this practice, I intended to question my routines, test my beliefs, and record day-to-day instability during the unpredictable present.
The coloured flesh evokes different feelings, intensities, and disparate emotions, reflecting diverse meanings like an iridescent body.
During the artist residency at Kombinat, I revisited the archive of around 300 drawings and shed new light on it.
